Help our older community … NOW!

It isn’t news to hear that our population is getting older. Advances in healthcare, the standard of living, diet and general activity levels mean we are living longer. But not only that, we also want the right to continue to live in our own homes for as long as possible.

Gone are the days when the slippers are put on as retirement age is reached – and a place in a residential home booked. We want to stay active, continue to enjoy our hobbies and interests and be a part of our thriving community. Being able to choose what we want to do, when we want to do it, and who we want to do it with is as precious to an older person as it is for our young adults venturing out into the big world, ready to make their mark.

But, as we do get older, sometimes something very small can hinder us. Struggling to bend to put on socks, not being able to drive due to failing eyesight, perhaps we had a fall and haven’t bounced back as fast as we used to, even a pan of boiling water and potatoes has become too heavy … all of these things can become a barrier to us maintaining our independence. Think for a moment about your own older relatives, who you automatically support with these small tasks. But also think about when you’re not there, perhaps you’re working, looking after the grandchildren or away on holiday. These needs don’t suddenly disappear; they are still there but now coupled with worry and anxiety as to how your loved one will be able to manage.

This is where award-winning Home Instead Senior Care comes into the picture. We specialise in supporting people in the way that we would care for and help our own families. Not only can we help you in your situation, but also you could help others by joining the Home Instead Family. We look for compassionate, kind, understanding people, who genuinely want to make a difference to someone’s life and fully recognise that it is often the smallest gesture that makes the biggest impact.

Our visits are a minimum of one hour, so there is plenty of time to get to know your client, building on companionship and trust, you see the same clients week in, week out. As you could only have a few clients a day, there is no need to rush around or be late. With full training, an excellent reward package and flexible hours available, we truly believe that there is no better caring job than working for Home Instead as a Caregiver.

So what are you waiting for? Start making a difference today and pick up the phone now to find out more … we can’t wait to hear from you, call 01952 581112 or visit www.homeinstead.co.uk/newport.
